Top 3 Skill Building Acitivites I am Loving Right Now
This is the season of love, and with Valentine’s Day here, I thought I would share the love with three activities I am loving right now to help your little ones build skills and have fun!
Anyone remember Tiddlywinks? I recently came across this game at a nearby art supply store and loving memories of playing this game with grandma when I was a little girl came flooding into my memory. I bought the game and have been playing it with some of my clients. What a fantastic fine motor-building game it is! Give it a try!
2. Who loves to experiment with cool textures? If so, try making fluffy paint. It’s easy and once made can be used to practice making shapes(hearts anyone?), letters, and or numbers.
How to make puffy paint:
In a small bowl mix 1/2 cup white glue, 1/2 cup shaving cream, and food coloring of your choice. That’s it! Remember, when possible have your child help measure, pour and mix ingredients for more skill-building fun!
3. Let’s give rubber stamps some love this month! Use letter rubber stamps to work on letter recognition, phonics, and “writing” names. The options for these are endless and can be a nice alternative to regular pencil paper types of tasks.
