In-person Occupational Therapy

Getting started with In-Person Services
Serving the Greater Los Angeles Area
Consultations are a perfect place for a parent to start if they are not sure if their child could benefit from working with an occupational therapist. A consultation can provide you with the information and guidance you need, so your child can get the support they require. This is usually done in an hour and will include observation, play with your child to gather information, and an interview with a parent or caregiver. Consultations may result in a recommendation for further assessment, treatment sessions with an OT, or simply suggestions of activities parents can do with their child. Consultations may also be provided in the child’s school setting, where I am available to provide ideas for accommodations and/or modifications within the school environment and work alongside educators, providing strategies to ensure success within the classroom.

Getting Started!
Assessments
Here We Go!
An assessment is often the starting point for determining where the child’s weaknesses are and gives Occupational Therapists crucial information for determining a baseline. Assessment can also be used while the child is receiving Occupational Therapy in order to determine progress, and may include clinical observations, standardized testing, and parent/teacher interviews. My assessments also take place in the home and, like consultations, should be relatively fun for the child. I always include a lot of play-based activities and movement.
Individual Home Based OT
Let’s Motor!
Individual Occupational Therapy can be extremely beneficial for children who may be struggling in a variety of areas. OT helps children with challenges in fine motor and gross motor skills, visual motor skills, play skills, social skills, sensory regulation and processing, handwriting, overall coordination, attention and self-help skills. I provide opportunities for children to gain skills in these areas in order to maximize their potential both at home, in the school setting, and in the community at large. These are typically hour long sessions (50 minutes is considered a therapeutic hour) where I visit you and your child at your home. I bring my treatment plan for the session and all the materials that will be necessary. This makes it simple for the family as it eliminates the need to rush off to yet another activity.
