3 Activities to Keep Your Child Learning During Your Holiday Break
We all love a good holiday break, but after a few days you might be wondering what you can you do to keep your little one regulated and having fun? Here are 3 Things to do over break to keep your little one building skills, regulated, and having tons of fun!
Use visual schedules (pictures or text depending on your child’s stage) to help reduce anxiety, assist with regulation, and provide some clarity and structure during the off time.
If you receive any toy catalogs, have your child practice their scissor skills and improve visual motor integration by cutting out the pictures of things they like. You can take it a step further and have them cut and categorize either according to size, color, things that go, things you build etc.
Try incorporating motor minute challenges into your child’s daily routine to add some sensory movement to their day. This can be ANYTHING! Run in place, skip around the room, hop on one foot, frog jump- any movement for a minute will give some nice sensory input and help to keep their engines running their best!
